Classically trained, and extremely versatile, Nora has a wide range and is experienced with harmonies. Also from the east coast (Maryland), she has led a cappella groups and choirs. She credits her Bubby and father for her voice and her mom for her sick dance moves. She is working hard to transition from the classical training she learned growing up, to be the badass rocker/blues/soul singer she always dreamed of becoming. Her musical theory and incredible ears keep The Fifth Pocket in tune.
Chris Walker Bass Guitar
Originally from the east coast, Chris has played with multiple bands from Virginia to New Jersey since the early 2000's, most notably with progressive rock band Days Before Tomorrow. Chris is the latest addition to the Fifth Pocket's lineup. His sense of time and groove and ability to learn songs quickly and accurately make him a most welcomed part of the rhythm section.
Sami Hashem Drums & Percussion / Background Vocals
Sami (“MoeGroovz”) is a versatile and skilled drummer whose sense of time and groove is integral to The Fifth Pocket’s synergy. The Armed Forces School of Music (Norfolk, VA) provided his formal training covering most styles of drumming – rock, R&B, funk, jazz, and various Afro-Cuban and Brazilian grooves.
At 17, he was driving an all-original fusion / rock / dance band which had gained popularity around the Dallas club circuit. “I was fortunate to have witnessed the thriving music scene in Dallas' Deep Ellum during the mid- to late- eighties. Sharing the same stages with some phenomenal emerging artists such as Ten Hands, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, The Reverend Horton Heat, Old ‘97’s, Scott Sean White, Madukwu Chinwah and Erykah Badu was a true inspiration.” A career highlight was touring the Far East with the U.S. Marine Corps Band while stationed in Japan. “Performing in military ceremonies, parades, jazz and rock band combos, and symphonic ensembles was a real honor.” His style is influenced by such great drummers like: Art Blakey, Max Roach, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Weckl, Omar Hakim, Todd Sucherman, Steve Gadd, Bernard Purdie, Jeff Porcaro, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich....
